Sick and Sick and Tired

Oh, Calgone! Please take me away!!
My poor sweet Tori has the flu. It started on Saturday morning on our way to Sea World. We did not think much of her falling asleep on the 20 minute drive to Sea World...........she did stay up a little late the night before. But upon entering Sea World, our sweet girl was just not herself. We did manage to see the dolphins, sharks, Shamu and half of the Water Ski show before deciding that we needed to get her home. I know, we weren't being very responsible parents! But, I promise, she did not have fever until we got home! First thing Monday morning we went to see the doctor. They not only tested her for the flu, but for Strep and a UTI. Now, if you have ever been through this you know what a HORRIBLE experience it was for both her and myself. She may also have a UTI. The results are not in just yet. Luckily, she has a very mild case of the flu. She is actually okay when her fever goes down. Thank goodness! I don't know what I would do if I did not get my normal Tori back in between her high fevers. Yesterday was the worst day. After the experience at the doctor's office, I bring my sick child home and have to force her to take medicine. This is so irritating! Why don't they just make shots filled with these medicines! I would much rather console her at the doctor's while the nurses give her a shot then bring her home, hold her down and force medicine down her throat, especially when she has a 103 temperature! Meanwhile, Katie is getting into everything so I strap her in her little booster seat. And Alli is just being a very good girl. She must have sensed my anxiety. I finally get her to take her medicine and I am just trying to breathe! I'm sitting at the kitchen table with Tori on my lap, trying to feed Katie and Tori just throws up all over me! God's perfect timing- Alli had just answered the phone and it was my mom. Mo-Mo comes to my rescue! She tells Alli to tell me she is on her way! I am not sure what I would do without my mom! Today has been better. Tori still has fever, but she is definitely feeling better. Pete relieved me of my mom/nurse duties this afternoon so I could get a massage. And it was great!

Spring Break 2007

We had a great Spring Break. Well, the girls and I did at least. Pete did not get any kind of a break....................oh wait, he did get to play golf with his old friend Bert on Friday. Besides that, he was busy working hard and the girls and I were busy playing and catching up with friends. Shana and the kids came down for a couple of days. It is always great to see them. We had so much fun. We spent all day Thursday at a very crowded Sea World. Despite the long lines, missing out on the Shamu show and not getting the cotton candy Alli had been asking about since the night before, the kids had a great time. I especially enjoyed hanging out with Shana and seeing Alli play with her very first friend Ben. Ben and Alli have been having play dates since before they were one year old.

After a great couple of days with Shana, Ben and Madeline, the girls and I headed to Tumbleweeds for fun with some preschool friends. Later that night, our good friends Jimmy and Kim arrived to hang out for the weekend and show off pics of their baby boy growing in Kim's little tummy. We had a nice relaxing weekend. And Jimmy and Kim got a glimpse of what life will soon be like for them!

"The Goodest Day Ever!"

This is what Alli was saying as she she was biting into her first Krispy Kreme doughnut. Alli received a Valentine from a classmate that had a coupon on it for a free doughnut from Krispy Kreme. So ever since Valentine's Day, she has been asking to go get her free doughnut. For those of you who know me well, you know my child has only had a number of doughnuts in her life time. I could probably count them on one hand. But now the cycle has began! All she can talk about is how good Krispy Kreme doughnuts are. And, like any 4 almost 5 year old, she wants to know when we are going back Krispy Kreme. I try to explain that doughnuts are not the best thing for our bodies and we should only eat them on special occasions. But she does not understand how something so good can be so bad for you. What is a mom to do? I can't deny my daughter of her 'goodest' day ever! So I tell her that we can go to Krispy Kreme once every three months. And she comes back with, "Okay, can I get 5 doughnuts every time we come back?"

Maddie Had Puppies!

I had to run to get the camera for this! The girls were playing with Maddie and being so cute. They were pretending that their stuffed dogs were Maddie's puppies.
