Drowning....

in a sea of boxes!!
Don't you love moving?
I should be a pro at this by now.....let's see, this is move number EIGHT in less than TEN years!!!
But, I got to say, this move rates pretty high up there on the excitement level for me. I LOVE this house! I LOVE the yard! And I CAN.NOT.WAIT to make it look like our home. We're getting close....but still A LOT TO DO! The painters did not get everything finished and they have to repaint the girls' bathroom (They put Celery on the ceiling and Lite Lavender on the walls- it should be the opposite.) so I must make some room for them!
I'll be back when I can get out of the boxes!

New Home Crisis #1

Yesterday, around mid-morning, I received a phone call from the painter. He said his guys who are there painting notice that almost all of the water has drained out of the pond. The 20 little fish that we have adopted as our new pets were swimming in about 9 inches of water. WHAT THE HECK!?!? I don't know a thing about this pond! Can I just go fill it up with tap water?
We are pretty lucky that the previous owners are very friendly. They left their cell numbers with us just in case any thing came up. I called them. Then I went to the house and filled up the pond. When Pete got home from work we all went back. And Pete became Mr. Fix It and fixed the problem!
I am hoping that Crisis #2 is not going to be the Macadamia color I chose for our bedroom. I wasn't too sure about it as I saw them putting it on the walls! But the Priscilla (pink) in Alli and Tori's room looks great and the Joyful Lilac in Katie's room looks great too.

***Udate on potential Crisis #2- I am happy to say that the color Macadamia looks great.

Over The Hill And Through The Woods

To Our New House We Go!

That is the perfect description for our new home. I am not kidding when I say we are in the COUNTRY! Our new house is located between your traditional Red Barn Farm and a Christmas Tree Farm. And today, it is OURS!

Take a look at our beautiful new home!

Spring Pic1

Spring Pic2

These first two photos were taken by the previous owner last Spring.

The next two photos were taken a couple of weeks ago when we went out there to plants some bulbs. Hopefully we can keep up the yard. Pete and I are not big yard people......or at least, we have never been big yard people. I guess this yard is going to require us to become a little more involved with our yard.

And the trees are now starting to look more like they do in the first two pictures. Spring is finally here, and I can honestly say, I see why New Jersians love it here.

I can't say that I am super excited about living so close to the woods. I know plenty of people that have seen bears near their homes. And last night, when we were doing our walk through, we saw a red fox in our back yard!!! I am trying to not freak out too much. I am going to go out and buy a lot of wind chimes.....wont the noise scare off the animals?!!? I do love the beauty of it all. It is absolutely gorgeous there. There are so many trees and the yard is just amazing. I love the house too. And when the peach and purple and blue is off the wall, I will love it even more. Right now, there are painters working on putting some Latte, Practical Beige, Winterberry Cream, Macadamia, Priscilla and Joyful Lilac (these last two are for the girls' rooms) colors on the walls. I can't wait until it is all done and we are moved in!

A Manicure

Here is Tori showing off her newly painted nails. She insists on doing it herself and does a pretty good job.

IMG_6501

Tori is wearing this super cute dress that my brother and, then girlfriend now wife, Laura bought for Alli for her 2nd birthday. Alli would never wear the hat with the dress. Tori will not wear the dress without the hat. I use to think that they were a lot alike. Now that Tori is getting older, it is more and more noticeable just how different they are.

Tagged- AGAIN!

My long lost friend at Searching For Balance tagged me. "Mom", as she refers to herself on her blog, is a friend of mine from that wonderful city in North Dallas that we only lived in for a very short 18 months. I met "Mom" at our church and we hit it off right away, as did the rest of our family. Our families spent every other weekend together studying God's word in our Life Group. We were surely blessed to have known them!

So, to add to a previous tag I got in February, I will tell you 3 random things/thoughts about me.

#1- My first "thing" will be a confession. I did not tell the whole truth in my previous tag- see #2.

I don't just use two lotions after I shower. I really use four. It wasn't always four. It use to only be two......the MOISTURIZING and the SMELL GOOD one from BBW. But then Pete started working for JNJ so I started to order lotion on-line at the JNJ store for employees. I always invite a friend to order along with my order. Well, one time I ordered the wrong lotion for my friend. I ordered the FIRMING lotion instead of the MOISTURIZING lotion. She did not want the FIRMING lotion so I kept it and used it......on the parts that need a little firming. So that makes three. And the fourth lotion would be this fabulous lotion by Aveeno for my FEET. I love all of the Aveeno products. Ok- so there is my confession. I use FOUR lotions on my body. I just like my skin to feel soft all over and firm where it should be firm and I like to smell good. And yes, this is EVERY time after I shower. Except when I travel because I usually don't have room to bring all of them. It is kind of OCD, I know!

#2- I LOVE MY FAMILY! Not so "random", I know. Everyone loves their family. And it is not like I don't love them on other days. But as I am writing about my thoughts, I am just having one of those days when I am just feeling so in love with my husband and girls and so excited about the things going on in our lives. And I am just so excited to be a wife and mother to these people! I know it has a lot to do with the fact that we are all together after several weeks of Pete traveling. And because we have a lot of exciting things going on. The weather is FINALLY getting warmer, Pete is in his new job, we are about to move into our new home, Alli is almost done with school, and we are planning our summer and our ten year anniversary trip. It is like I can't get enough of them right now. I am hugging and kissing the girls all day. I am trying to be the perfect wife that I promised Pete I would be. And I am JUST LOVING THEM right now!!! You know what I mean?!?!

#3- I do not like to go clothes shopping for myself. I would much rather buy the girls clothes than buy for myself. I do like getting and wearing new clothes, but I really dread going shopping. Several reasons- I never know what to buy. Things look great on the hanger, but not so much on. I have to buy petite pants and most of the time they are still too long. I really just like to dress comfortable and sometimes that is not so fashionable. And it takes me forever to make a decision.

There you have it...more quirky things about me. So I think I am suppose to tag a few people back......Lisa, Sammy, Amy P. and Amy C.
