What's Going On

Not a whole lot of exciting things going on here in good ole San Antonio. The weather has been absolutely beautiful these past few days. Yesterday I celebrated by treating myself to a pedicure to get my feet flip flop ready. Today we went to the park. And then came home and played with bubbles outside. The breeze was so nice! I just love Texas!

Katie just turned 7 months! I can not believe my baby will be one soon! I know- I have another 5 months before she is one, but July
will be here before we know it! She is truly a happy baby-
just very content where ever we go. She loves to be sung to.
It cracks me up because everyone knows that I can not sing- much less hold a tune. But here I am walking through HEB and singing to my baby! She just loves it so much I can't help myself.

Tori is growing up so fast! She is so much like Alli was at 2 it just amazes me.
We even got out a home movie from when Alli was Tori's age to compare the two. We registered her for preschool next year. She will go two days a week for 4 hours/day. What will I do with only one child for those 8 hours during the week???

Alli will be 5 in about 6 weeks. Now that just scares me! Five years old! And she will be going to kindergarten next year! WOW! Time really does fly when you are having fun. She is excited to go to elementary school on most days, but, unfortunately, I said something to her that I probably should not have said. We were talking about her going to kindergarten and I mumbled something about home schooling her. Not because I want to, but because I am just nervous about her going to kindergarten. Alli says, "What's that, Mommy! You can teach me from home!" OOPS! Big lesson for the week- DO NOT SAY THINGS IF YOU DON'T MEAN IT! I know a few moms who teach from home and I think that is great. But I really don't think God has called me to be a home schooling mom. Again, I think it is great that some moms do it, I just don't think it is for me!

I am doing an AWESOME Bible study on the book of Daniel. It is just amazing how much you can learn from really studying God's Word. And the book of Daniel is so interesting. There is so much to learn from the Bible- the one and only 'secret' you need! (In my opinion!) Other than night, Pete is in San Fransisco -again for the next two days. The girls and I are really missing him. He is doing a lot of traveling lately. And I am still trying to recover from my HUGE loss at Scrabble with Shana. My dear -and very smart friend Shana and I have been playing Scrabble over the computer for a couple of months now. (See My Scrabble Addiction for the link!) I get ahead of her by a few points and things are looking good for me. Then I make one not so smart move and she comes up with some 7 or 8 letter word on a triple word score! Scoring like 500 points with just one word! Another lesson for the week- DO NOT PLAY ANY WORDS WITHIN 7 SQUARES OF A TRIPLE WORD SCORE WHILE PLAYING WITH SHANA!

Sister, Sister

Well, it finally happened! Alli and Tori are now sleeping in the same bed! Tori is out of her crib and sleeping on the bottom bunk with Alli. Of course, Alli is just thrilled! She HATES sleeping by herself. For the first two years of her life, she slept in our bed. Pete was in the Army at the time and spent a lot of nights in the field - so sleeping with Alli worked for us at the time. Looking back, as much as I enjoyed cuddling up with my little baby at night, sleeping with us was probably not best for her. Ever since Alli started sleeping in her own bed, bedtimes have always been a struggle. So, much to Alli's delight, Tori decided that she no longer wants to sleep in her crib and has willingly accepted Alli's invitation to sleep with her.
Alli is so happy to have her sister in her bed that she does not mind sleeping on the edge or on top of Tori's feet!

Love Them Rolls

Now, those are some cute rolls!

Don't you just want to squeeze her!

Little Mama, Big Suburban

Okay, I am usually not one to brag, BUT........... I just have to!

As some of you know, I have been driving a suburban for almost a year now. We purchased this huge vehicle shortly after discovering my "ulcer" was not an ulcer, but a baby (Katie)! This vehicle is really big, but I had been driving a Tahoe and the difference between the two is only about 2 feet in the length. So anyways, what I need to brag about is that after driving this very long vehicle for almost a year, I have not hit anything or anyone. I have not even bumped my Suburban into anything while backing out or pulling into a parking space. I even park it in the garage!
A few days ago, my loving husband was backing my Suburban out of our garage. And guess what he did? He hit the side view mirror as he was backing out! Now, my loving husband is really a great driver. I think he was must have been distracted............maybe he was talking on the phone or turning on the TV for the kids. But I am just so happy that HE did it and not ME! Especially, after finding out how much it is going to cost to replace the mirror! BTW, he is THRILLED that I added this to the blog.
