We woke up this morning to snow! Is that crazy or what?!?
This was taken early this morning.
And the rest are from this afternoon. It has not stopped snowing!
I hope this does not mean we are in for a BAD WINTER!
Today Tori's class went on a field trip to a pumpkin patch. The weather has been pretty nice. I expected it to be another nice day, but about ten minutes after arriving to the pumpkin patch, the sun went behind the clouds. It became very chilly! And Tori was definitely not appropriately dress. I felt bad, but she did not seem bothered by the cold. We made our way through the pumpkins, a hay ride, the maze, a corn box (instead of sand it was corn) and fed a few farm animals. It was nice to be at a pumpkin patch with the fall foliage and cold weather.
The view from the patch was so nice.
I did not get too many pictures. My hands were in my pockets trying to keep warm!
This is the time of year when Pete we put off raking the leaves as long as possible. Pete has actually picked them up a couple of times already. It is pretty easy since we have this attachment that works as a vacuum for the riding lawn mower. I am thinking that I actually want to do it myself.......it would be a nice break and finally give me some time alone an easy chore once the thing is attached.
The girls and my mom and I had some fun in the leaves this afternoon. It is something new for us Texans. Fall is a beautiful time of the year when the weather is nice and cool. The leaves change from green to yellow, red and orange. It is quite a site! I am truly amazed at the beauty of it all! Now the leaves are starting to fall off the trees and the cool crisp weather is slowly becoming cold.
It's unbelievable how much fun a pile of leaves can be when you are 6, 3, and 2 years old.
Where did Alli go?
I think this will keep her busy for awhile.
This past weekend we drove up to West Point for Pete's ten year reunion. It was so much fun!! Friday evening we reconnected with our old friends at a class banquet. Saturday was a full day of events. We left our hotel early in the morning and went to the West Point parade, then to a tailgate party, the football game- which Army won, back to the tailgate party and later that evening we headed back to the hotel bar for some more fun with old friends. It was really such a great weekend. It went by too fast!
A few days before the reunion, our good friends Jimmy and Kim came up to stay a night with us. We were glad to have them and finally meet little J.T.
At the Banquet
At the parade
I love being at West Point. It is absolutely beautiful there. And seeing Pete reconnect with some old friends was great. He has shared so many memories with his classmates. And once out of school, we were able to continue the friendships and added more memories as our families grew. We were lucky enough to be stationed with our close friends at Fort Hood and also at Fort Sill. Getting together with them was so wonderful. I love how we can be together and somehow it seems like no time has passed. I admire these men and women who serve(d) our country.
Unfortunately, our extra camera battery was left at the hotel.....no more pics!
I am on my way out to pick my mom up at the airport! The girls know that she is coming soon, but they don't know it is TODAY!!!!
Where does the time go? It just seems to keep on flyn' by!
The start of the school year has kept us quite busy.
This little girl has a soccer game every Saturday morning. She seems to be enjoying it....most of the time. She is pretty good and pretty aggressive when it comes to getting that ball! Because of soccer, we do not get to sleep in any day of the week! We are out the door every single morning by 8:30 for school, soccer or church. The seasons ends at the end of November.
A couple of weeks ago, we headed into the city for a birthday party for a friend's little boy. It was held at The Playgarden. It was a really neat little place. And it was probably the cleanest place I have ever been in- always a great feeling to walk into such a clean establishment. The kids had a blast!!!
Before going to the party, we went to the big (and I mean B-I-G!) Toys R Us store. This was so fun for the girls. They have this huge ferris wheel right inside the store. The girls decided not to wait to ride it so they could have more time looking at toys!
The girls having lots of fun at Grant's party.
This past weekend was a busy fun-filled weekend as well. Nana and Papa drove up from DC to visit. And after Alli's soccer game on Saturday, we drove over to Easton, PA to visit the Crayola Factory. It is just too cool that we live close to so many neat places! It is a great place and entertaining for all ages.
Katie giving her favorite color a big hug! The girl wants everything to be blue!
